Cycling Without Age is a movement started in 2012 by Ole Kassow. Ole wanted to help the elders get back on their bicycles, but he had to find a solution to their limited mobility. The answer was a trishaw and he started offering free bike rides to the local nursing home residents.

Georgia Cycling Without Age is an affiliate of Ole’s organization that works to help local residents get that same experience. We’re currently raising funds to purchase trishaws that can be used throughout the Greater Atlanta metro area.

COVID has impacted our ability to reach out and offer rides to senior centers, retirement homes and many other potential folks who would enjoy feeling the wind in their hair.

If you know of anyone who would be interested in setting up rides or even a demonstration let us know and we can set something up.

My first ride in a Cycling Without Age Trishaw, thanks to Robert Hoskin. I discovered 2 individuals in metro Atlanta who already have trishaws. Once the GA CWA non-profit is finalized we will start fundraising to acquire more and expand this outreach program. The pandemic has made it difficult to interact with facilities and seniors who would enjoy riding as a passenger--but it will happen.

We have 2 officers (Brad Dean & me), but need one more to finalize non-profit registration to begin fund raising. While the ideal candidate has an interest in cycling and community service, right now I just need anyone willing to be listed as an officer. No other duties or obligations required.
